- Can I pay monthly as I do with my motor insurance policy?
No. We do however offer 4 easy ways to pay including Debit or Credit Card, Cheque, Bank Transfer or PayPal.
- Is there a claim limit for each claim made on the Platinum Warranty?
The claim limit is equal to your vehicles purchase invoice price. As an example, if you paid say, £8000.00 for your vehicle, you could have any number of smaller claims up to a combined total of £8,000.00, or one single claim of £8,000.00.
- Where can I take my car to be repaired ?
You may take your car to a repairer of your choice providing the repairer is VAT registered. If you believe you have a claim, do not proceed with the repairs until the claim is authorised by the administrator.
- Am I covered by your policies abroad?
Yes, you are covered in all member countries of the European Community and any country for which a Green Card is effective at time of loss.
- Can I renew the MOT Insurance after 12 months?
Yes. Providing your vehicle meets the eligibility criteria at that time, you will be able to extend cover for a further 12 months.
- Can policies be transferred?
Most policies are specific to the insured and the insured vehicle and cannot be transferred. However, our Platinum Warranties can be transferred to a new owner for a nominal transfer administration fee.
- I would like to have warranty work carried out by a franchised dealer. Can you accommodate this?
If you purchased your car from a franchised dealer, your Platinum car warranty will allow you to have repairs carried by that dealer. For full terms and conditions on our Platinum vehicle warranty, please view or download our warranty booklet on our vehicle warranty product page.
- Is there an hourly labour rate limit?
The claims team will expect the warranty labour rate of your chosen repairer to be in keeping with a) the brand, b) the region, c) the type of repairer, ie franchised dealer.
- How long after buying my car can I buy your warranty?
You may purchase our Platinum Warranty within 180 days of your vehicle purchase invoice date.
- How long after my existing warranty expires can I buy your warranty?
If your existing warranty has expired you may still purchase a car2cover Platinum Warranty, providing you do so withing 90 days of expiry of your previous warranty.
- Do you cover all makes and models of vehicles?
No. The following vehicles are excluded from cover - FSO, Maserati, Bentley, Morgan, Bristol, AC, Cadillac, Caterham, Daimler, Ferrari, Tata, Lamborghini, HMC, Lotus, Marcos, Westfield, Coleman Milne, De Tomaso, Stacting, Marlin, Rolls Royce, Venturi, Nissan Skyline.
