- Can I buy SMART Insurance for my van?
Yes you can, providing it has a gross vehicle weight less than 3500kg and providing it is not used for haulage or courier work.
- If I make a claim under a SMART Insurance, will this affect my motor insurance premium?
No. SMART Insurance is a separate insurance that does not impact on your motor insurance when you make a claim. It's purpose is to help overcome the need to pay for repairs as they occur or make claims on your insurance which would impact on your renewal premium.
- Are the damages covered by SMART Insurance not covered by my fully comprehensive insurance?
Yes they probably are. However if you make say 3 claims for small repairs over the next 3 years, your insurer will no doubt increase your premium when you next renew your insurance. If you have an insurance policy excess of say £150, you will make a claim but not benefit because the excess you will pay will probably be more than most repair costs. Preserve your motor insurance record and keep those costs low by making your repair claims on SMART Insurance !
- If someone else is driving my car when it is damaged will SMART Insurance still cover me?
