Why is our Car Warranty different and how does it work ?

Our Platinum Car Warranty has the highest claim limit in the industry and allows you to choose your preferred repairer. Our warranty labour rate is also one of the highest available.*

We are different in other ways too. Unlike our competitors we do not ;


  • Use offshore underwriters,
  • Choose the repairer,
  • Charge an excess for each claim,
  • Ask you to pay extra for rapid claims handling,

Our Platinum Car Warranty products are available for 1, 2, or 3 year periods and include a FREE 12 month MOT failure repair cover that will pay up to £500 toward repairs following an MOT failure. Subject to vehicle eligibility.

You will not be required to have your vehicle inspected before buying our warranty.

You will however, need to buy our warranty either ;

a) within 180 days of vehicle purchase or ;
b) within 90 days of expiry of an existing warranty.

With one of the highest claim limits in the industry, our Platinum Car Warranty will protect you against the breakdown or failure of all mechanical and electrical parts, with minimal component exclusion. See policy booklet for details of what is and what is not covered.

The list of parts and components covered is far too long to list in a policy booklet therefore the policy wording simplifies this by clearly stating “All mechanical and electrical parts are covered” and then provides an overview of major components covered and a small list of exclusions.

Our Platinum Car Warranty also provides cover for features that other Warranty companies charge extra for including; Turbo & Superchargers, Air Conditioning, In Car Entertainment, Timing Belts and Casings.

Our claim limit is your vehicle purchase invoice price in aggregate. As an example, if the price you paid for your car was say £8,000.00, you could have any number of smaller claims up to a combined total of £8,000.00 or a single claim of £8,000.00.

In the event of a claim you will have an opportunity to choose your preferred repairer, providing the repairer is vat registered and charges a warranty labour rate consistent with the geographical area and make and model of your car. If your chosen repairer will not offer a warranty labour rate, you may opt to a) take your car to a repairer that will, or b) pay the difference. Warranty labour rate is rarely a contentious issue and the majority of repairers are happy to carry out repairs at a healthy warranty labour rate. Your claims advisor will liaise with you and your preferred repairer on this issue before work commences.

The unexpected can and does happen. Are you financially prepared for it?

Our Platinum Car Warranty does not impose a future mileage limitation. Providing your car is under 7 years of age and has covered less than 80,000 miles at time of buying your warranty, you may travel unlimited miles thereafter and enjoy the protection of a Platinum Car Warranty from car2cover.

Other inclusive features of Our Platinum Car Warranty are;

  • Up to £50 per day (incl VAT) toward the cost of vehicle hire for a maximum of 7 days.
  • Towing charges up to £50 (incl VAT)
  • Cover is extended for up to 60 days in any 12 month period while the vehicle is in any country of the EU.
  • FREE 12 month MOT failure repair cover. (Subject to vehicle eligibility)

* Warranty labour rate is not the same as retail labour rate. Warranty labour rate is the rate at which repairers perform warranty repairs for manufacturers and warranty companies.
