How does it Work?
MOT Failure Insurance will provide valuable financial protection if your vehicle should fail its MOT test.
MVRA facts tell us that there are 25 million MOT tests per annum, of which 29% are failed tests requiring some form of repair before re-test. Of those failures 13% are due to high emission levels.
Almost one third of all vehicles fail their MOT, imposing an unexpected and un-welcomed repair cost on motorists before the vehicle can be re-tested again. MOT test repairs are not expenses we normally set money aside for and with vehicles becoming increasingly technological, even the smallest of components can cost hundreds of pounds.
Lets take a look at some common reasons for MOT failure which usually require some form of expensive repair to obtain an MOT test Pass;
- Wheel bearings,
- Shock absorbers,
- Parking brake system,
- Exhaust and catalytic converters,
- High exhaust emissions,
- Front and rear lights including stop lights,
- Indicators and hazard warning lights,
- Steering and suspension.
All the above components and more are covered under our MOT Failure Insurance policy.
If you purchase MOT Failure Insurance and your vehicle fails its MOT test, your policy will pay up to £500 for the cost of MOT test repairs – and there is no insurance excess to pay.
Cover must be purchased at least three months before your MOT test is due. Claims under our MOT Failure Insurance will be considered at any time during the period 30 days prior to and up to 30 days after your next MOT test date.
See our detailed MOT Failure Insurance policy terms and conditions in our 'Show me the policy' section.
